MEDITATION SOLUTIONS
I have come to realise that the way we think is the most powerful influence on our well being and how we move determines the flow of thought and our subsequent actions.
When you worry thoughts become stuck in ever repeating patterns, and little movement takes place, which means very little gets done. Worrying therefore achieves nothing!
When you are confused in thinking and don’t know what to do, movement is uncoordinated as there is no focus and goals cannot be achieved.
The ultimate solution is purposeful action through meditation applied to movement and proper living. This is the way I endeavour to discipline my life, although sometimes I get distracted and the resulting emotional state upsets the harmony. Result is problems with health. Those of you who know me well will have seen this condition affecting me quite recently.
What I have written in this latest website are various ideas, research and tools to help others explore what needs to be done to achieve harmony in thinking and movement..
I am now registered with Skype which is a great FREE way to communicate. It means I can offer personal training in meditation via the internet. The key is that all distress we experience is due to disharmony in thinking and movement. We may need to learn some new skills and gain new information through more conventional means but how we turn this into successful behaviour will depend on harmony within ourselves and proper application. This is more a product of intuition than intellect for which meditation is the Master key. Through meditation I can help you find the Master key for yourself.
For a monthly subscription starting at £30 you receive a one hour session plus unlimited email support each month. You will have access to a extensive library of information I keep with me and if you want to increase the personal contact a package to suit your needs can be arranged.
Some ancient Wisdom:
“If you believe everything you read in books (and internet) don’t read books”
“If you rely solely on a teacher (guru) then don’t have a teacher.”
“Take what is useful, discard what is useless, and add something that is specifically your own.”
A PERSONAL PHILOSOPHY TO MANAGE STRESS AND BE MINDFULL
"Responsibility for his/her own health falls on the individual"
Learn to recognise the changes and conflicts in your life and decide to do something about them. Be positive in thought, word and deed. You may decide however it is best to do and say nothing! Think about it.
Accept responsibility for your own actions even if the results do not meet your expectations or desires. Do not accept responsibility for the actions of others, or situations that are beyond
your control. Practice 'detached concern' rather than over-involvement.
Focus on one thing at a time. Outer hurry is a sign of inner stress. Separate yourself from other duties, roles, and expectations.
Improve time management and do not try to fill every moment or cram too much into your schedule. Allow time for family, friends, relaxation and exercise.
Reflect on the past, ponder on the future but act on the present. Procrastinate or put off those things that are not a must for today, if it means having more time for yourself today. Do not dwell on the future but cherish the present moment.
Be sufficiently motivated to carry on under all circumstances Develop perseverance, patience, discipline, and be constant in your practice and dealing with others. A gem cannot be polished without friction nor a man perfected without trials.
Knowing what is right but not doing it, is want of courage. Have the courage to change what you can change, the serenity to accept what you cannot, and the wisdom to know the difference.
Put as much energy into your self and your family as you do your work. Become less of a perfectionist, it stops you achieving many wonderful and varied things. Perfection consists of doing ordinary things extraordinarily well, not doing extraordinary things.
When an idea doesn't work you've got to change your way of thinking and it will work wonders. Learn to do something different in difficult situations or when you want to break the habit.
Don't compare yourself with others or believe that others or your opinions are necessarily right or wrong. No one is respected unless they are humble.
Be interested and you will find all life around you interesting. Enthusiasm overcomes obstacles to achieving your goals.
Look for support, build social support networks and family relationships. No one was born to be a failure. A person is not poor if they have friends. Share feelings, thoughts and talk over problems.
Express your emotions, preferably with those you care about, or 'diffuse', 'cool-off', or 'let off steam' in private.
Recognise that no single aspect of your life (including work) can provide all the rewards and satisfaction. Rid yourself of the idea that only job success is worthwhile.
Avoid situations that get you down. Be happy, laughter is the best medicine. Do not take yourself too seriously.
Be realistic and don't over extend yourself. Re-evaluate life's priorities and what is really important to you.
Reduce energy depleting activities ( very vigorous exercise/sport ), and avoid health depleting behaviour ( smoking, too much alcohol, overeating). Listen to your body. Get enough rest and sleep. You should not wake up tired in the morning.
Choose a lifestyle that demands commitment, challenge and a degree of self-control.
Instead of being aware what others want you to be, be more aware of what you need. Control demands on yourself by learning how to say no nicely.
Improve your communication skills, this includes being a good listener.
Explore as many techniques as you can find for relaxation and coping with effects of stress. Learn to regulate your physiological and psychological responses to stressors, through breathing, meditation, and movement.
Diversify interests by cultivating creative hobbies and working for the good of others.
Take a nutritious, well balanced diet that contains many natural ingredients, rich in vitamins, B, A, C, E, minerals and quality protein.
Enjoy music to create your mood and with beautiful colours, warmth and the right thought you can transcend daily problems.
Be a good to yourself at least once a day and focus on your strengths not your weaknesses. Count your blessings.
Get expert help if needed and you cannot cope on your own. Be receptive to counselling to get you on the right road to a balanced life.
"Go placidly amid the noise and haste and remember what peace there may be in silence"
